“You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.” — Psalm 56:8 (NLT)

Tears are not a sign of weakness. They are a sacred language of the soul—an expression of love, loss, and longing. In a world that often rushes us to “move on,” God invites us to slow down and feel.

He sees every tear. Not one falls unnoticed. Not one is wasted.

When Jesus wept at Lazarus’s tomb, He wasn’t just mourning a friend. He was showing us that grief is holy ground. That sorrow has a place in the heart of God. That our tears matter.

So if you find yourself crying today—whether it’s a quiet tear on your pillow or a flood that won’t stop—know this: your tears are a gift. They are a release. They are a prayer. And they are held by the One who understands.

A Gentle Practice:

Take a moment to sit with your emotions. Light a candle, play a worship song, or simply sit in silence. Let the tears come if they need to. Whisper this prayer:

“Lord, thank You for seeing my tears. Help me to trust that You are near, even in the sorrow.”

You are not alone. You are not forgotten. You are deeply, tenderly loved.

With compassion and hope,
