Finding Light Again

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” — John 1:5 (NIV)

There comes a moment—quiet and unexpected—when you feel a flicker of light again. Maybe it’s a laugh you didn’t expect. A sunrise that catches your breath. A moment of peace in the middle of the ache.

This is not forgetting. This is not moving on.
This is grace.

Grief changes us, but it doesn’t have to define us. In Christ, we are not only comforted—we are renewed. Slowly, gently, He brings beauty from ashes. He restores joy, not by erasing the past, but by walking with us into the future.

If you’re beginning to feel that light again, let it in. If you’re not there yet, that’s okay too. The light will come. And when it does, it will be because He never left your side.

A Gentle Practice:

Each evening this week, write down one small moment of light—a kindness, a memory, a smile. Then pray:

“Jesus, thank You for being my light in the darkness. Help me to see Your goodness, even in small things.”

You are not walking out of the valley alone. You are walking with the Light of the World.

With gentle hope,
